Overview of K-Pass Application

K-Pass is a groundbreaking initiative designed to support public transportation expenses across South Korea. Card Issuance and Membership Registration

To start benefiting from K-Pass, you need to obtain a K-Pass card and register for membership. This card allows you to access both standard and economical transportation options. After obtaining the card, you can complete the membership registration process either via the K-Pass website or the dedicated mobile application. Additionally, if you are currently using an economical transportation card, ensure to convert your membership by visiting alcard.kr by June 30, 2024.

Nationwide Coverage

K-Pass is operational across the entire country, making it accessible in all regions. The service spans metropolitan areas such as Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, and Sejong, as well as numerous cities and counties within the provinces of Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeju Island, Busan, Ulsan, and Daegu. Refund Benefits

One of the key features of K-Pass is the substantial refund of public transportation costs. Users can receive a refund ranging from 20% to 53%, depending on their eligibility. Young individuals aged 19 to 34 are eligible for a 30% refund, while those classified as low-income can benefit from a 53% refund. With just 15 uses per month, users can qualify for up to 60 refunds based on the highest accumulated amount. Note that in the initial month of subscription, points will still be awarded even if fewer than 15 uses occur, but subsequent months require at least 15 uses to maintain eligibility.

Payment and Transfer Details

The final refunded amount is processed and delivered to the card company on the 5th business day of the following month. Ensure to verify the payment date and method according to the specific policies of your card company. If you decide to switch card companies during the period of use, the total refund amount will be transferred to the new card company at the time of final payment.
