The king of the monsters is on the way to Fortnite island.

Curious about what Godzilla looks like in action?
Where to find Godzilla and Kong in Fortnite?
Fortnite Godzilla location
As mentioned earlier, you have a chance to become Godzilla while this Fortnite crossover is underway. Occasionally, a special Godzilla portal also known as the Hollow Earth Rift Gate will appear during a match which allows you to transform into Godzilla for a limited time.
The portal has a 20% chance of appearing between 3 and 3 minutes and 45 seconds into the match. This is much earlier compared to the Doom event which happened much later in the game.
However, it’s worth noting that there’s no fixed spawn location for this portal as it randomly spawns across the map. Thankfully, the game will mark its exact location on the minimap for you. So all you have to do is keep an eye on it.
The portal spawns around the first circle of the match, and when it opens, a massive signal alerts everyone to rush toward it. The first player to enter gets to transform into Godzilla, allowing them to walk, roar, stomp, and unleash a devastating heat ray that can demolish entire areas, though movement will be slow. While there's a timer for your transformation, you won't die as Godzilla—you’ll always revert to a normal player afterward, regardless of the situation. Just keep in mind, you won't earn any rewards for your time as Godzilla, other than the thrill of the experience!
Fortnite Kong location
Kong has a 25% chance of spawning at a random location during the match. While you can't engage him in battle, spotting him from the battle bus guarantees the appearance of the Godzilla portal. If Kong doesn't show up, the portal may still spawn, but it's not guaranteed.
When Kong does appear, he drops supply crates filled with useful items like railguns, which can be beneficial when facing Godzilla. However, you cannot transform into Kong—he's simply part of the rift event.
How to get Kong’s Battle Axe in Fortnite
In addition to the skins, the collaboration introduced various premium items and bundles for a limited time, featuring the coveted King Kong Battle Axe, which replaces the standard Pickaxe.
In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, Kong's Battle Axe is available in the Item Shop for 800 V-Bucks. If you don't have enough V-Bucks, you can purchase a 1000 V-Bucks pack for $8.99.
Unlike the Crystal Fang, the Battle Axe cannot be earned for free through the new Godzilla quest rewards; it must be obtained via microtransaction. The item is offered both as a standalone purchase and as part of the 'Mechagodzilla & Kong Bundle.
The latter costs a hefty 2,800 V-Bucks but also offers many items, including:
- Kong (Outfit)
- Mechagodzilla (Outfit)
- Kong’s Battle Axe (Pickaxe)
- Proton Drill (Pickaxe)
- B.E.A.S.T Glove (Emote)
- Roar Power (Wrap)
- Cybernetic Scream (Wrap)
- B.E.A.S.T Armorplate (Bling)
- Proton EXO Boosters (Bling)
The Battle Axe and other Godzilla collaboration items will leave the Item Shop on January 25, 2025. Once they're gone, their return is uncertain, so make sure to grab them before it's too late!
