Overview of ABB-free@home® Next App

The ABB-free@home® Next app is the latest application designed specifically for users of the ABB-free@home® Smart Home System. It requires a minimum firmware version of 2.5.0 to function correctly.

Core Functions

The ABB-free@home® Next app enables you to program and operate your free@home system effortlessly. You can control various functionalities including lights, blinds, heating, air conditioning, scenes, time programs, Philips Hue, and Sonos devices.

Remote Access

The myBuildings remote access feature allows you to connect the app to your free@home system through the internet. This means you can control your home from anywhere in the world or simply check the "house status."

New Features

The ABB-free@home® Next app introduces four distinct pages for controlling different aspects of your home system:

HOME Page

The HOME page provides a quick overview of your home's status:

• Status Tiles: Shows the status of lights, shutters, windows, and the alarm system. Tap on a tile to turn off lights or adjust other settings.
• Weather Window Tile: Displays weather data from your free@home weather station.
• Next Switching Times: Displays upcoming automated switching times. You can pause these events using a slider.
• Favorites: A collection of your favorite functions. You can select these by tapping the star symbol. Tapping on the favorites tile will activate the function or display more settings.

You can rearrange the order of functional areas on the HOME page by dragging the bubble at the bottom of the page.

EQUIPMENT Page

On the EQUIPMENT page, you can access all devices in your free@home installation. You can sort devices by trades (e.g., lighting, blinds) or by installation location.

AUTOMATION Page

The AUTOMATION page lists all your automated processes, including timers, scenes, and actions. You can activate or deactivate time programs and start scenes by tapping the blue symbol.

Notification Center

The notification center saves all system messages for easy reference.

WIDGET

The widget lets you monitor the current status of your favorites and control them directly from your home screen. This requires the FOREGROUND permission.

MyBuildings

Connect your free@home system and smartphone to the myBuildings portal for seamless integration.

GEO LOCATION

Use geolocation to trigger actions based on your current location. For example, turn on the lights when you arrive home.

Minimum Requirements

Ensure your free@home system is installed in your home with a firmware version of 2.5.0 or higher. Your system must be integrated into your home network, and a Wi-Fi network is required to access the system via your mobile devices and the app.
